Privacy Policy, ElectriQual Ltd.
Last updated: 16 September 2026
This notice explains what personal data electriQual collects, why, what we do with it, and your rights. We've kept it as plain as we can.
Who we are
electriQual is a trading name of ElectriQual Ltd., a company registered in England and Wales with company number 16283271. Our registered office is 2 Laburnum Avenue.
We decide how your personal data is used, which makes us the "controller" of it under UK data protection law.
You can contact us about anything in this notice at support@electriqual.com.
What this notice covers
This notice covers:
our website, electriqual.com
the electriQual waitlist
the emails we send you
messages you send us, whether by email, through a form on our website, or on social media
The electriQual revision portal is not open yet. Before it opens, and before we take any payments, we will update this notice to explain how we handle accounts and payments.
The data we collect and why
Your email address - when you join the waitlist to email you when the portal opens, with updates and any launch offers. Our legal basis = your consent.
The date and time you joined - automatically when you join to keep an accurate list, and to check who qualifies for any offer we announce to the waitlist. Our legal basis = your consent.
Whether you open our emails and click the links in them - when you open an email to see which emails are useful and keep our list healthy. Our legal basis = Our legitimate interests (running and improving electriQual).
How you use our website: pages visited, device and browser type, rough location based on your internet connection, and how you found us - When you visit the site to understand how the website is used and improve it. Our legal basis = Our legitimate interests (see “Cookies” below).
A record of your consent: the wording you agreed to and when - When you join the waitlist to show we have your permission to email you. Our legal basis = Legal obligation.
Data protection requests and complaints you send us - When you send one To deal with your request or complaint. Our legal basis = Legal obligation.
"Legitimate interests" means we use your data in ways you would reasonably expect, for a genuine business reason, and only where that doesn't override your rights.
We do not use your data to make automated decisions about you.
If you've bought from electriQual before
If you bought from electriQual in the past, we hold the details from that purchase: your name, email address, what you bought and when. Your card details were handled by Stripe, our payment provider. We never saw or stored them.
We keep these records because tax and accounting law requires it (our legal obligation).
We will only send you marketing emails about electriQual if you agreed to receive them, or if you bought from us and were given the chance to opt out when you did. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also tell us at any time, by emailing support@electriqual.com, that you don't want marketing emails.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device.
Essential cookies make the website work. They are always on.
Analytics cookies are set by Squarespace, the company that hosts our website. They tell us how the website is used overall, for example which pages are visited most. We do not use them for advertising. When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept or decline them. To change your choice later, clear the cookies for electriqual.com in your browser, and the banner will appear again.
We do not use advertising cookies or social media tracking tools on this website. If that ever changes, we will update this notice and ask for your consent first.
Our emails
We only send marketing emails to people who asked to receive them.
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe by emailing support@electriqual.com.
When you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a short "do not contact" list. That is the only way we can make sure we never email you again by mistake.
Who we share your data with
We never sell your personal data.
We use trusted service providers who handle data only on our instructions:
Squarespace hosts our website and runs our signup form, mailing list, email sending and website analytics.
Google (Google Workspace) provides our business email and the spreadsheet where we keep a backup of waitlist signups.
Stripe processed payments for past electriQual purchases and holds those payment records. Stripe will also handle payments for the portal; we will update this notice before the portal opens.
We may also share data if the law requires us to.
If you contact us on a social media platform such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook or X, that platform also handles your data under its own privacy policy.
Data transferred outside the UK
Waitlist email address and joining date = Until you unsubscribe, or 12 months after the portal opens if you haven't become a subscriber, whichever comes first.
Past purchase records (name, email, what you bought and when) = For as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually 6 years from the end of the financial year the purchase was in.
Record of your consent = For as long as we email you, then 2 years so we can show we had permission.
"Do not contact" list (email address only) = For as long as we need it to make sure we don't email you again.
Messages you send us = 2 years after our last contact with you.
Data protection requests and complaints = 2 years after the matter is closed.
Website analytics = Held by Squarespace, in overall figures rather than about you personally.
How long we keep your data
Some of our providers are based in the United States and may process your data there. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US Data Bridge.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
ask us to correct data that's wrong
ask us to delete your data
ask us to limit how we use your data
object to how we use your data, including the right to stop marketing emails at any time
withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it
ask for data you gave us with your consent in a format you can take elsewhere
To use any of these rights, email support@electriqual.com. It's free. We will reply within one month, and may ask you to confirm who you are before we act.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal data, please tell us first. Email support@electriqual.com.
We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, keep you updated while we look into it, and tell you the outcome.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator:
Website: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint
Phone: 0303 123 1113
If you're under 18
Many apprentices are 16 or 17. This notice applies to you in exactly the same way, and we've tried to write it so it's easy to follow.
We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you are under 13, please don't join the waitlist. If you think someone under 13 has joined, contact us and we will delete their details.
Keeping your data safe
Our accounts are protected with two-step sign-in, and only electriQual can access your data. No way of storing or sending data over the internet is completely secure. If a breach happens that puts your data at risk, we will report it to the ICO where the law requires, and tell you directly if the risk to you is high.
Changes to this notice
When we update this notice, we change the date at the top. If we make an important change, such as when the portal opens and we start taking payments, we will email everyone on the waitlist to let them know.
